Cyanoacrylates
Cyanoacrylates: Are high performance instant adhesives for general-purpose assembly, industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul. They are one-part adhesives that cure rapidly at room temperature to form thermoplastic resins when confined between two substrates in the presence of microscopic surface moisture. These products solvent free and exhibit high tensile and shear strengths. A wide variety of cyanoacrylate formulations are available with varying viscosities, cure times, strength properties, and temperature resistance. Cyanoacrylates achieve fixture strength in seconds and full strength with in 24 hours, making them ideal for high volume, automated production environments. Cyanoacrylates are suitable for bonding plastic, metal and rubber.

Types of Cyanoacrylate Adhesives:
- High Performance Ethyl Cyanoacrylates (EC Range) – Ethyl based Cyanoacrylates for standard performance, general purpose. These products are available in a wide range of viscosities, from wicking grades (5Cps, like water), to gel. The viscosity chosen will depend on many factors including surface smoothness, fit between parts, gap filling and application method. Speed of bonding should be chosen to suit the process. For automatic assembly and high speed processes, a fast bonding time will reduce inventory and the need for fixturing. For manual operations a slightly longer positioning time might be desirable.
- Plastic and Rubber Cyanoacrylates – are designed to give exceptional performance on difficult to bond rubbers and plastics, together or in combination with metals and other materials. Superior performance on PVC, ABS, nylon and certain fluorocarbons. Plastic and Rubber Cyanoacrylates are available in several viscosities for a wide range of substrates.
- Rubber toughened Cyanoacrylates: Are formulated with a unique polymer that optimizes impact and thermal cycling resistance while providing tough flexible bonds. Ideally suited for bonding flexible substrates and dissimilar materials. Provides good thermal resistant bonds
- Surface Insensitive Cyanoacrylates: Bond rough, porous and acidic substrates including wood, cardboard, veneer, rubber, cork and leather. These products cure faster even under the conditions of low humidity and work where conventional cyanoacrylates fail.
- Low Odor Cyanoacrylates: Are low blooming products formulated for cosmetically critical applications. White residues and chlorosis of the joint area are eliminated. These products also reduce the requirement for sophisticated ventilation systems.
